As an example of fair practice, concerning protection of indications of geographical origin, the Home Made Ajvar from Leskovac was mentioned by the Director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce from Leskovac, Mr. Goran Jović. Mr. Jović emphasized that the region with the greatest number of registered GIs still works on the project to also have other well known traditional food products, from administrative districts of Jablanica and Pčinj, protected, following the example of products previously protected by geographical indications, which contributed to the local economic growth of the communities they originate from.
