For companies that base their competitiveness on the diversity of their products, on that esthetic or external form, the protection of industrial design as intellectual property right, represents an important tool for the protection or improvement of competitiveness. Industrial design serves to protect new external image of some three- dimensional or two-dimensional product or its part, which is defined by lines, contours, colors, shape, texture or material.
