At the invitation of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Jablanica and Pčinj administrative municipality from Leskovac, the Director of the Intellectual Property Office, Mr. Vladimir Marić, on November 16, 2023, attended a session of the assembly of the Chamber of Commerce. In the festive part of the session, Mr. Marić, on behalf of the IPO, received the Note of Gratitude for the contribution to the branding of traditional products from the South of Serbia, underlying on that occasion that Leskovac is the geographical area attached to no less than four products protected by indications of geographical origin. In addition to Domestic ajvar, Domestic sprža, and barbecue meat from Leskovac, in this year, Leskovac ljutenica has been registered before the Office as the appellation of origin. The Regional Chamber of Economy from Leskovac recognized the importance of protection of the geographical origin of traditional products from this area and the assistance offered to producers of these products in the process of protection of the geographical origin is an example of good practice in this field.
The Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia was awarded a Note of Gratitude also during the celebration of the 48 years from the establishment of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak, University of Kragujevac, on November 17, 2023. The Note of Gratitude was awarded for the contribution to the increasing of the level of knowledge concerning intellectual property law, through the lectures and workshops performed in the previous years for the students and employees of the Faculty, resulting in the several applications for the protection of inventions by petty patent and patent.
