In the Museum of Science and Technology, last night, there was a festive opening of the exhibition with the realized models of the first Serbian patents granted at the beginning of work of the Administration for Industrial Property whose successor is today the Intellectual Property Office. The exhibition was opened by the Minister for Science, Innovation and Technological Development, Ms. Jelena Babović.
In the opening address by Zoran Lević, Director of the Museum and Vladimir Marić, Director of the Office, a retrospective of patent protection in Serbia has been presented from the times after the establishment of the Administration for Industrial Property in 1920, and the authors of the exhibition Mr Dušan Petrović and Saša Šepec, as well as the designer Dejan Vračarević, presented also all the challenges in the realization of this exhibition on the basis of patent documentation.
In addition to more than 20 realized models of inventions of ordinary people, craftsmen and industrialists of those times, including the first registered patent “Kazan for Baking Brandy”, originally the first Hungarian patent from 1909, as well as the first patent granted by the authority in those days – the Administration, Self-rocking Cradle”, the integral part of the exhibition consists also of the exhibits from the permanent museum collection of the famous Serbian inventors and scientists Mihailo Vukobratović, Mihajlo Petrović Alas and others.
The exhibition will be open to visitors till March 31, 2025, in the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade, 51, Skenderbegova Street.
