The Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, from 19-20 May 2022, was visited by the delegation consisting of eight members: from the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro, Directorate for Intellectual Property, headed by Jasna Vujović, Director General of the Directorate for Internal Market and Dragana Ranitović, Head of the Directorate for Intellectual Property. On the first day of the visit, the delegation was welcomed by Vladimir Marić, Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia who presented the competences and the tasks of the Office.
In the course of the study visit, lasting for two days, the colleagues from Montenegro were informed about the experiences of the Office concerning the work on the tasks relating to various intellectual property rights. In the field of copyright, the guests were particularly interested in the activities dealing with the supervision over the collective management organizations. Bearing in mind that Montenegro, at the end of the year, accedes to the European Patent Organization, particular attention was dedicated to the procedure relating to the national patent applications, administration of the EP patent applications, but also PCT route. In the domain of the trademark law, procedure of trademark examination was discussed as conducted in the IPO according to the national and international trademark applications. With regard to the above mentioned, the delegation had the opportunity to get acquainted with the procedures relating to the applications of industrial property rights in the Registry Department.
Special attention was devoted to the transfer of knowledge and experience in the performance of Industrial Property Diagnosis for business subjects, that has already been initiated the previous year by the Directorate for Intellectual Property of Montenegro, as well as other activities in the Education and Information Center of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia.
