“The Honey from Đerdap” is the flower honey with the protected geographical indication of origin obtained from the flowers of acacia, linden and plants consisting mostly from medical herbs and it is produced exclusively on the territory of Đerdap Gorge District. Geographical indication where the “Honey from Đerdap” is produced coincides with the 90% of the territory of the National Park Đerdap.
Very transparent, with the range of colors from light yellow through the amber color with the orange tone to the color of the dark amber. It has a pleasant taste with the conspicuous vanilla aroma or acacia honey.
Apiculture Association “The Town of Golubac” from Golubac is the authorized user of the geographical indication “Honey from Đerdap” and it has recently been entered in the register of the authorized users kept at the Intellectual Property Office.
The capacity of the authorized user of the geographical indication indicates that the quality and the special characteristics of products with the protected geographical origin of a certain producer have been controlled and certified by the authorized body. By the selection of these products the consumers are protected because they buy authentic products of controlled and guaranteed quality.
