The World Intellectual Property Day, on April 26, 2024, has been celebrated in Novi Sad at the Faculty of Law. On that occasion, the Cooperation Agreement has been signed between the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia and the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad.
Memorandum was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, prof. Tatjana Bugarski, Ph.D. and the Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Vladimir Marić.
The participants were addressed the Dean of the Faculty of Law, prof. Tatjana Bugarski, Ph.D, who expressed great pleasure for the establishment of cooperation and she indicated to continually growing importance of intellectual property rights for modern business, in particular having in mind the development of new technologies and artificial intelligence.
The Director of the Office, Vladimir Marić, greeted the participants and presented the history and competencies of the Intellectual Property Office. He indicated the importance of the study of the intellectual property rights at the faculties and he said that the doors of the Office are always open to all the students who wish to get acquainted closer with the work of the Office.
After the signing of the Agreement, the Assistant Director of the IPO, Aleksandra Mihailović held the lecture: “The Influence of Artificial Intelligence on the Intellectual Property Rights”. In her speech, she indicated the multiple influences of new technologies on intellectual property rights, in particular having in mind the protection of the system of artificial intelligence and the contents that they create.
Active interaction and discussion by the students and professors contributed to better understanding of the system of IPR protection and it clarified to all the participants how intellectual property can be effectively used in the scientific and academic work, as well as in the business environment.
