On Tuesday, May 10th, 2022, a public webinar was held on the international protection of inventions, whose topic follows up the previously held webinar regarding patent protection of innovative technical solutions.
After brief reminder what patent is, and the introduction of the concept of priority right, the participants got acquainted with the possible routes of protection abroad from the point of view of the domestic applicant. The advantages and shortcomings of each of the mentioned routes have been stated, as well as the expenses that the applicant should be able to afford on the route of international protection, and the end of the presentation referred to novelties connected to the unitary patent, that is expected to enter into force the next year.
The participants, as up to know, had the opportunity to be included in the discussion with questions and the unitary patent inspired great interest.
The webinar was attended by 70 participants, including researchers from the universities and institutes, representatives of SMEs, representatives of science parks, representatives of Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, patent attorneys and individuals.
