In Belgrade, from November 20-24, 2023, a traditional Data Science Conference -Europe, was held, as one of the most frequently attended IT conferences in Europe, in the framework of which the participants had the opportunity to visit on November 22 and 23 the Pandora Conference and hear the opinions of distinguished lecturers about some of the burning topics of importance for the video games industry.
One of the panel discussions, held on November 22, in the framework of the Pandora Conference, was dedicated to the consideration of the use of artificial intelligence in the context of intellectual property rights. It was considered whether the artificial intelligence can be the author in the meaning of Copyright Law, who is the owner of the contents generated by the artificial intelligence, what is the legal status of the data and contents helping the artificial intelligence to generate the contents and what kind of future we can expect with regard to the legal regulation of the existing doubts and ambivalences. The introductory speech on this topic was given by the Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Vladimir Marić, and then the topic was presented by the participants attending the panel: advocate Nikola Kliska from the office Karanović & Partners, advocate Andrea Radonjanin, from the office Moravčevic, Vojnović & Partners, Ms Ksenija Gydax, from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and then, the lecturer at the University Queen Mary in London, Gaetano Dimita and the panel moderator Djordje Krivokapić, assistant at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences of Belgrade University.
