Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia successfully cooperates with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in harmonizing EU Principles of Common Practice in trademarks field.
In cooperation with the EUIPO, EU Principles of Common Practice CP4 – Scope of Protection of Black and White Marks, are translated and included in the Guidelines for the procedure of trademark granting and procedures following trademarks registration, which can be seen on the IPO’s website. This way, the IPO continues successful cooperation in implementation of the EU Principles of Common Practice in trademarks field with the EUIPO.
So far, three EU Principles have already been implemented, CP5 – Relative Grounds of Refusal – Likelihood of Confusion, CP8 – Use of a TM in a form differing from the one registered, CP9 – Distinctiveness of three-dimensional marks.
