On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the premises of the Intellectual Property Office, a seminar was held on the importance of IP protection for fashion industry.
The Seminar was organized at the proposal of the director of the cluster of fashion industry FACTS, Ms. Slađana Milojević. After the welcoming address of the director of the cluster FACTS, the lectures of the experts of the Intellectual Property Office followed.
In the lecture under the title “Intellectual Property in Fashion Industry” the participants got acquainted with the basics of the system of intellectual property protection with the special accent on patent and copyright, why IP should be protected, as well as how to approach the problem in the case of the violation of right.
The second lecture was dedicated to trademark, one of the most important rights for fashion industry and its role in branding products in fashion industry. The third topic was dealing with industrial design, that, along with the trademark, plays great role in fashion industry.
At the end of the seminar, in the term envisaged for the discussion, 27 participants, including professors of studies relating to fashion design, students of design, independent designers as well as representatives of our famous fashion brands showed great interest for the presentation of the topic by asking numerous questions to the experts of the IPO.
