Director of the Intellectual Property Office - Vladimir Marić

He was born on March 3, 1972, in the city of Loznica. In his hometown, he finished elementary school and high school.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade in 1997. In 2004, he received his master’s degree from the Department of Intellectual Property at the same faculty. He also obtained a master’s degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of Turin, Italy, also in the field of intellectual property.

He has been a permanent employee in the Intellectual Property Office since 1998. He started as an intern, and then was an Examiner at Trademark Department, Head of the Trademark Department, Assistant Director in Sector for Copyright and International Cooperation. Since December 30, 2015, he has been working as an Acting director of the Intellectual Property Office, and since January 31, 2018, he has been the Director of the Intellectual Property Office.

For eleven years, he worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Union University in Belgrade, where he taught Introduction to Civil Law (2004-2008) and Intellectual Property (2006-2015).

He has published a number of professional articles in the field of trademarks and copyright, as well as three books, one in the field of copyright and two in the field of trademarks. He is married and has three children: Milan, Vuk and Lenka.
