The members of the Ministry of the Interior, Department for Fighting High Technology Crime, and trade inspectors of the Ministry of Internal and External Trade, in cooperation with the Special Prosecution Office for High Technology Crime arrested four persons for the existing of the grounded suspicion that by the sale of forgeries of the famous brands of clothes and footwear over the Internet they illegally acquired profit in the amount higher than 300,000 euros, performing thus the criminal act from the Article 238 of the Criminal Code, of unauthorized use of other persons business names and other special marks for the distinguishing of goods and services.
The suspects, over the Internet, in the longer time period, in the country or abroad, sold footwear and clothes for which it has been established that it concerns forgery of high quality of well-known luxury trademarks.
On the basis of the order of the Higher Court in Belgrade, the inspections of apartments and other premises used by the suspects were performed, where objects of criminal acts were found.
A total of 565 pieces of 26 various trademarks was seized, having market value of around three million dinars.
Suspected persons were ordered to be kept in custody for 48 hours and they shall be sent to the competent prosecution office to answer for the criminal charges.
On this occasion, we invite the citizens to buy clothes and footwear exclusively through the chains of well-known shops and other official chains for trade in order to avoid the buying forged goods and the negative consequences that it implies, including health risks, safety problems and support to criminal activities.
