On 28 May 2026 at 14:00, a lecture entitled “Your Idea. Your Right.”, dedicated to innovation, creativity and the protection of intellectual property, was held in the ceremonial hall of the main building of the Rade Končar School of Electrical Engineering. The lecture was organised in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, and the strong interest shown by students and teachers demonstrated how important and relevant this topic is among young people. The guest lecturer was Dr Nataša Milojević, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Adviser at the Education and Information Centre of the Intellectual Property Office. The ceremonial hall was filled to capacity, and the students and teachers in attendance followed the presentation with great attention and actively participated in the discussion.
During the lecture, numerous topics from the field of intellectual property were covered, including patents, copyright, trademarks and industrial design, as well as the protection of innovations and creative works. Participants had the opportunity to learn how an idea can be developed from an initial concept into a product or a successful business, and how important intellectual property is in the world of technology, startup companies and modern digital creativity.
A particularly strong impression on those present was made by practical examples from everyday life and contemporary industry, through which the students were able to understand how innovations are created and how they are protected. The lecture encouraged students to think creatively, develop their ideas and become familiar with the procedures through which their work can be legally protected.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of education and raising awareness of intellectual property as a foundation for the development of a modern society and a competitive economy.
The organisers pointed out that the aim of this event was to bring the importance of innovation, creativity and the protection of ideas closer to young people, and that this goal was fully achieved.
Following the lecture, it was concluded that the Rade Končar School of Electrical Engineering would continue its active cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office in the future through the organisation of educational activities, lectures and workshops, with the aim of enabling students to acquire new knowledge and develop competencies important for their further education, professional development and preparation for the world of innovation, technology and modern entrepreneurship, because, as was jointly concluded at the end: “An idea is the beginning. Knowledge is strength. Protection brings the future.”
