
We would like to inform all the interested startups and small and medium-sized enterprises that the World Intellectual Property Organization invitation for applications for the competition and awards – WIPO Global Awards 2026 is open.
From January 15 to March 31, 2026 startups and SMEs from around the world, from different economic sectors, can apply and showcase how they are using intellectual property to grow their businesses and make an impact in the areas where they operate in the real world.
In 2026, awards will be presented to 11companies:
- 10 winners from all sectors of economy (from health and agri-food, through environmental protection and creative industries, to information and communication technologies)
- 1 thematic award: SME in sport, in line with the theme of the World Intellectual Property Day 2026
- 2 special awards: Best Female Entrepreneur and Best Young Entrepreneur
The uniqueness of the WIPO Global Awards is reflected in the fact that they reward companies that use intellectual property rights as a strategic resource for growth regardless of industry sector, anywhere in the world.
Winners receive:
- Global visibility through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) network.
- A customized six-month mentoring program on intellectual property commercialization and business strategy.
- Connecting with investors, corporations, institutions and business networks.
- Invitation to the awards presenting ceremony during the WIPO General Assemblies in Geneva, in July 2026.
