We are pleased to inform you that the European Patent Office (EPO) is organizing secondments of experts from member states for a period ranging from six months to three years. This call is addressed to civil servants employed by national patent offices and other state authorities and organizations, bodies of autonomous provinces and local self-government units, as well as institutions established by the Republic of Serbia.
Applications are to be submitted directly via the EPO portal. The selection of the first candidates will begin in February, and the earliest starting date is 1 April of this year.
Applicants must have at least three years of professional experience in the relevant field and an excellent command of at least one of the EPO’s three official languages: English, German, or French.
In addition, candidates who decide to apply are obliged to attach with their application a recommendation from their employer and a statement confirming that, upon completion of the secondment, they may return to their previous positions. Prior to submission, applications must also be forwarded to the Intellectual Property Office for review. The Office will examine the applications, and recommend candidates who meet the requirements of this program to the European Patent Office.
