
As part of the doctoral studies at the Faculty of Biology, for doctoral students in the submodule Translational Research in Neuroscience and Biomedicine, lectures on patents were held at the Institute on January 22, 2026, in order to get the students acquainted with the possibility of protecting the research that can be applied in practice.
In addition to the basic concepts of patents and petty patents, the conditions and methods of protecting inventions and the supplementary protection certificate, special emphasis is placed on inventions in the field of biotechnology, including examples of inventions related to preclinical testing.
The lecture was given by representatives of the Office’s Education and Information Center, Zorica Obradović and Jelena Tešić, and in addition to students, employees of the Faculty of Biology, as well as the representatives of the Faculty of Physical Chemistry and the Institute of Plant Protection, were also present. It was agreed to continue cooperation with the Institute through the organization of workshops for searching patent databases.
