A two days conference is ending today which was dedicated to the topic “Cooperation between bodies for the enforcement of IP rights in the Republic of Serbia” that brought together European and domestic experts in the field of the protection of intellectual property rights. Yesterday, in the organization of the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, a one day conference on the protection of intellectual property rights was held under the title “ Enforcement of IP protection and influence on the budgetary income”. The Conference was attended by the representatives of the relevant ministries in the Government of Serbia, state administration and private sector. Among the special guests, the Conference was attended by Mrs. Mary Warlick, Ambassador of the USA in Serbia, Mr. Adriano Martins, Deputy Chief of the EU Delegation in Serbia, Loup Brefort, Head of the Office of the World Bank in Serbia, Mrs. Gordana Pualic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice and Mrs. Bojana Todorovic, Deputy Minister in the Ministry of the Economy and Regional Development. On November 2, 2011, at the invitation of the Open University from Subotica, in the Subotica Hotel Gallery, a whole day seminar was held under a title “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights”. The lectures in the framework of this seminar, attended by 16 participants, were held by the experts of the Education and Information Center. Among the participants, there were representatives of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, Open University, Regional Agency for the Development from Subotica, and the Agency for SMEs and associations of innovators.

In Novi Sad, from October 12-15, 2011, the jubilee 25th Tesla Test 2011 was held in the Sports and Business Centre “Vojvodina”. During the Tesla Fest, an International Conference on Innovations was held, supported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Association of Inventors of Vojvodina, the Intellectual Property Office and the Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad. At this year's TESLA FEST, 150 domestic and foreign inventors participated and presented to the visitors more than 350 inventions.

The representatives of all the mentioned institutions shall attend the basic and the advanced level of training and shall have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience by means of specialized lectures on intellectual property and cases of practice from other European countries with the aim to advance the efficiency of intellectual property rights enforcement, as well as more solid cooperation of the bodies.

This year, all around the world, is symbolically called “The Year of Chemistry” and holds message “Chemistry – Our Life and Our Future”. By launching a campaign for the year of chemistry, the United Nations want to indicate the importance of chemistry in the satisfaction of the needs of humanity, raise awareness for chemistry with the young people and encourage enthusiasm and creativity for the sake of future inventions in this field. Also, their intention was to celebrate in an adequate way the one hundred years jubilee from awarding the Nobel Prize to the great scientist in this field – Marie Curie.
