Nikola Tesla was our greatest scientist and inventor, the continual source of inspiration for the numerous generations of scientists, experts and inventors. His most important work represent the inventions that can be seen in our everyday life. First of all, this refers to his system of alternating currencies and the suitable generators of alternating currents – that Tesla created himself.

After the mentioned system, his numerous inventions followed in the field of currents of high frequencies and high voltage, including the transformer bearing his name, as well as the inventions in the field of wireless transmission of energy, where he, among other things, gave crucial contribution to the creation of radio. He is the inventor of remote control, and his inventive spirit was also reflected in the field of generating and implementation of X-Ray radiation, electrical therapy and the system of illumination. Apart from electronics, Tesla was engaged in the various other fields of technology, in particular, mechanical engineering.

His greatest work is taken to be the world system of wireless transfer of information and energy that he intended for the benefit of the entire humanity and whose realization he tried to initiate in Wardenclyffe, USA.

Tesla protected a great number of his inventions by patents. So far, it has been established that Nikola Tesla has 116 basic patents, including 109 USA patents and 7 UK patents, which Tesla used to protect 125 numerous inventions. It has also been established that Tesla got for his inventions at least 311 patents in 27 various countries in the world. The date of birth of Nikola Tesla was proclaimed in 2010 as the Date of Science in the Republic of Serbia.
