REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON TEACHING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS

A regional conference within the IPA regional project for intellectual property supported by the European Union is organized in the hotel „Zira“ in Belgrade, in purpose of awareness raising on the importance of education in the area of intellectual property with special emphasis on higher education establishments. The conference is being held from 1st to 2nd of September with the topic „Regional Conference on Teaching Intellectual Property in Higher Education Establishments“. This event provides a fertile ground for sharing of experiences between speakers from the EU countries, WIPO, EPO, and other regional countries.

ELEVENTH FAIR OF INNOVATIONS, COOPERATION AND INVENTIVENESS „INOCOOP 2010“

In the town of Zrenjanin, in the organization of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Zrenjanin and the General Association of Inventors from Zrenjanin, from August 26th to 28th, 2010, the eleventh traditional Fair of Innovations, Cooperation and Inventiveness “INOCOOP 2010” was held, gathering 220 exhibitioners from Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The director of the Intellectual Property Office, Mrs. Branka Totic, and the director of the National Agency for the Regional Development, Mr. Ivica Ezdenci, signed a Cooperation Agreement on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 in the premises of the IPO. Thus, these two institutions joined forces and efforts in order to develop competitiveness and innovativeness of small and medium enterprises in Serbia, as well as to raise awareness on the importance of intellectual property rights in Serbian society.

The World Intellectual Property Day (WIPO) established this holiday in 2001 with the aim to raise awareness on the growing role of intellectual property (IP) in everyday life and for the purpose of celebrating the contribution of inventors and artists to the general prosperity of humankind. |
