THE FIRST MEETING OF THE EUROPEAN PATENT ORGANIZATION IN BELGRADE

The first meeting of the European Patent Organization (EPO) organized in Serbia, the annual Federated European Patent Register Service Event, was held on 17 May, 2013, in Hotel Metropol Palace in Belgrade. The total number of 51 participants attended the meeting, 42 of them from 23 member states of the EPO and 9 from the EPO.
WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DAY

World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated today around the globe, as a festival of all innovators and artists in the world. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) established this festival in 2001 with the aim to raise public awareness on the growing importance of intellectual property in everyday life, as well as to mark the contribution of the inventors and artists to the general development of humanity.

GLOBAL CONGRESS ON FIGHTING COUNTERFEITING AND PIRACY

Today, in Istanbul, a Global Congress on Fighting Counterfeiting and Piracy is concluded. The Congress was opened on April 24th, 2013 by the Turkish Prime Minister Redgep Erdogan. On the last day of the Congress, which is also the World Intellectual Property Day, the Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs. Branka Totic, gave a speech.

In the organization of the Regional Development Agency “South” and the Office for the Local Economic Development of the Municipality Prokuplje, in the festive hall of the municipality Prokuplje, a seminar was held on the intellectual property. The expert from the Education and Information Center held a lecture on the importance of protection of intellectual property rights and the kinds of intellectual property.
