SEMINAR "INFORMATION SOURCES IN BIOTECHNOLOGY"

Seminar "Information sources in biotechnology" will be held on March 29 in the University of Belgrade. Main topics will include sequences databases, sequences search tools, proteins, enzymes, bioactive chemical compounds and search in patent databases.

LECTURE ON THE COPYRIGHT IN KOVACICA

In the Gallery Babka in the village of Kovacica, famous for its art colony, an exhibition of the naïve painting of Slovaks in Serbia was held yesterday as part of the intangible heritage in Serbia in the framework of the commemoration of the February 21 – The World Day of the Mother Tongue. The representative of IPO, on that occasion, held a lecture on the protection of copyright in the works of fine arts.

JPO AND THE EPO AGREE ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF MACHINE TRANSLATION

In a landmark step towards increased use of worldwide patent information on the internet, the Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office (JPO), Yoshiyuki Iwai, and the President of the European Patent Office (EPO), Benoît Battistelli, have signed an agreement which will provide users of the patent system with better machine translations of patents from Japanese into English and then into German and French.

SEMINARS HELD FOR SPECIAL PURPOSE INDUSTRY ND TECHNICAL OFFICES FOR REPAIRS

Today, at the premises of Education and Information Center at the IPO, the last of the three seminars on patents was held. In the course of the three days of this week, they were attended by forty employees in the business companies for special purpose industry of the Ministry of Defense and technical offices for repairs.
