Since 2016, it is possible to submit the national applications for industrial property rights in electronic form. The technical prerequisite for submitting eApplication to the Intellectual Property Office is to have a qualified electronic signature certificate issued by certified bodies:
- The Public Company – Post Office of Serbia
- Serbian Chamber of Commerce;
- Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia (free certificate for electronic signature on ID card);
- Halcom company
- E-Smart Systems Company.
The fees for submitting the national application through eApplication portal, using the certificate for electronic signature, are reduced by 25% for trademarks and industrial designs, and by 50% for patent and petty patent applications.
A foreign natural or legal person who does not have a seat or residence in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, in the procedure before the Office, must be represented by a representative entered in the Register of Representatives kept by the Office.
