Patent databases

For those who work in R&D, patent information databases can serve as an inspiration and a tool for solving problems in their daily work. Patent information databases provide information on competitor's activities. One of the main advantages of the patent information databases is that it represents very often the only source of information about some technical solutions, having in mind that it is the first publication and sometimes the only one, due to the precondition for invention protection - novelty.

In order to search patent information successfully, it is necessary to determine the symbol of International patent classification.

International patent classification - IPC (versions: 2015.01, 2014.01, 2013.01, 2012.01, 2011.01, 2010.01)

International patent classification - IPC (older versions: 2009.01, 2008.04)

Electronic Patent Register – Test version

On the basis of the article 70 of the Patent Law, the Intellectual Property Office keeps the Patent Register.

The test version of the electronic Patent Register contains the bibliographic data
on the patent applications and registered patents for the period since January 1, 1994.

In the test version of the electronic Patent Register the data has been included
concerning the changes referring to patent applications and registered patents,
for the requests submitted to the IPO since January 1, 2015.

Data about the changes when the procedures have been initiated till January 1,
2015 are entered in the Patent Register books, in the premises of the Intellectual Property Office.

For all the data from the Patent Register, the Intellectual Property Office issues excerpts from the
Register, at the request of the interested party, which have the meaning of the public certificate,
where the accuracy of the data contained in the certificate is guaranteed.
