EPO SEMINAR – TUITION ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AT THE FACULTIES

Yesterday, in the hall of the IPO, a seminar was held under the title:”IP Training at the faculties with the training manuals of EPO Academy”. The Seminar was attended by 40 professors and lecturers from the faculties and institutes in Serbia.

At the opening of the Seminar, the participants were greeted by the Director of IPO, Branka Totic. The lectures of the well known experts from the international institutions followed. First of all, Cler Howell, lawyer and senior lecturer of law from the Aston Business School spoke about the IP rights and their characteristics with various practical examples. After that, the professor of IP law from the university Boconi from Milano, Loren Manderio gave a lecture on the introduction of IP training into the curriculums at the faculties that do not belong to the domain of law. Then the key elements of EPO manual were presented along with other teaching material, followed by the characteristics of adequate didactic training methods. Patent examiner of the European Patent Office, Igor Slembruk, presented the manual for the “advanced” training of IP issues – IP Advanced with the focus on the basic module on patents, creation of patent applications, Espacenet data base, module on case studies from the Manual and the lecture was followed by exercises referring to the patents from this manual. Slembruk then spoke about the elements of preparation of adjusted lectures with the training manual for IP and typical questions of students.

At the end of the Seminar, the participants were presented certificates for the attending of the seminar.
