At the seat of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in Geneva, on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014, the Memorandum on Understanding and Bilateral Cooperation was signed between the Office for the Harmonization of Internal Market (domain of trademarks and industrial designs) of the European Union (OHIM) and the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia. The Memorandum was signed by Antonio Campinos, the President of OHIM and Branka Totic, the Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia.
The mentioned Memorandum on Understanding was concluded at the initiative of OHIM and it has the goal to advance technical cooperation of two offices through numerous project activities referring to the legal protection of trademarks and industrial design. These activities include the organization of training in the field of intellectual property intended for the employees and the general public, including the organization of seminars and workshops, e-learning courses and organization of study visits for the employees, organization of the annual meetings for experts to discuss the main current issues in the field of trademark and design, the advance of electronic and computer systems referring to the data bases of trademarks and industrial design, as well as cooperation in the domain of the enforcement of rights.
