On this date, 122 years ago, Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest Serbian scientists visited Belgrade and it was his one and only visit. During his stay in Belgrade, the King of Serbia Aleksandar Obrenovic invited him to a festive audience.
Nikola Tesla used his stay in Belgrade to address the professors and students of the Great School – now the University of Belgrade, as well as to talk to Djordje Stanojevic, one of the pioneers of the electrification in Serbia. Our renowned scientist received from the Serbian Orthodox Church, during his stay in Belgrade, the Medal of St. Sava of the second degree.
During his work as an inventor, Nikola Tesla was granted 300 patents all over the world.
