Today, in the IPO, a two days seminar was completed at the topic “IP Rights in Agriculture” that was held for the representatives of the Faculty of Agriculture of Belgrade University. Before around 35 persons, lectures were held that have the aim to inform the participants about the possibilities of protection of creative solutions in the domain of agriculture and the research of relevant data bases.
On the first day of the seminar, the topic was the establishment of indications of geographical origin of agricultural products and other relevant aspects of patent protection, while the topics on the second day included the protection of breeders rights of plant varieties, exceptions from patentability in the domain of agriculture and conditions for the protection of inventions in biotechnology. The Seminar was completed by presenting possibilities of use of available data bases of patent documentation and possibilities of use of intellectual property in the process of technology transfer.
