THE TRADEMARK LAW AND THE MARRAKESH TREATY TO FACILITATE ACCESS

The Parliament of the Republic of Serbia passed today The Trademark Law and the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired or Otherwise Print Disabled.
The new Trademark Law harmonizes our legislation in this field additionally with the European legislation, while the Law on the Ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty grants certain privileges to the blind and visually impaired people with regard to the right to use copyright protected work of other right holders. By passing the mentioned legislation, another step was made in the direction of better protection of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Serbia towards the closing the Chapter 7 – Intellectual property rights.
