XXXII TESLA FEST

In the period from October 12-15, 2018, in the Sports Centre “Vojvodina” in Novi Sad, the 32nd Tesla Fest was held. It is the international exhibition of innovations, inventions, new products and technologies. On the first day of Tesla Fest, after the opening ceremony “The International Conference of Innovations and Intellectual Property” was held under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Intellectual Property Office and the University in Novi Sad. In the course of the exhibition, the IPO had a stall in order to give consultations to the exhibitors and visitors of Tesla Fest.

The conference was opened by the President of the Province Government Igor Mirovic, underlining in his presentation the importance of the support to the R&D and innovative work as well as the importance of the cooperation between science and industry. The exhibition was opened also by the representative of the Association of Inventors of Vojvodina and the representative of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Mr. Oleksandr Shevchenko who afterwards had a presentation about the activities of the support to innovations by the WIPO and the procedure of the international protection of inventions by patent. Presentations during the conference were also held by the representatives of the associations of inventors from China, India, Romania and Portugal. During the exhibition, at their stalls, they exhibited inventions of their members. The representative of the cabinet of the Minister for Innovations and Technological Development presented the activities in the creation of the innovation eco-system in the Republic of Serbia, while the representative of the IPO gave the presentation about the patent protection. The importance of creating connections and protection of the results of R&D was addressed by the representative of the High School of Expert Studies from Sremski Karlovci. At the very end of the Conference, one innovation was presented in the field of agriculture, and after the Conference the attendees could see other exhibits at the stalls.

At the last day of the exhibition, WIPO Medal for the best inventor was awarded for the exhibited inventions – and the panel of judges decided to give it to the exhibitor Mr. Milan Devic from Belgrade, who is the founder and the owner of the enterprise Simprolit, for three inventions in the field of civil engineering, in particular the connector for the thermos-insulation boards, thermos-insulation cloak from light concrete for chimneys and pipes and the prefabricated façade with steam permeable panel.
