www.zis.gov.rs

In the transitory period until the final abolition of the old domain, we have secured conditions to approach the site from both addresses i.e. www.zis.gov.rs as well as www.yupat.gov.yu

WIPO National Seminar on Methodologies,
Best Practices and Lessons Learned in the Development of a
National Intellectual Property Strategy

November 19 and 20, 2008

The “WIPO National Seminar on Methodologies, Best Practices and Lessons Learned in the Development of a National Intellectual Property Strategy” was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade on November 19 and 20, 2008 in the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, 23, Terazije Str.

The Seminar had the aim to present the experiences of the countries in the region in the realization and enforcement of the national intellectual property strategies and to contribute to the awareness raising in the general public on the justification of the writing of the Intellectual Property Strategy of the Republic of Serbia. In that sense, the national experiences were presented by the directors of the intellectual property offices of Romania, Croatia, ex director of the Office of Great Britain, as well as representatives of Malta and Macedonia.

Decision of The Administrative Council
inviting the Republic of Serbia to accede to the
European Patent Convention

June 19, 2008

The Administrative Council of the European Patent Organization, at its 114 meeting, passed a decision that the Republic of Serbia was invited to access the European Patent Convention. This decision was passed on the basis of letter of intent of the Republic of Serbia to join the Convention, sent, on behalf of the Government, by a Minister of Science, Dr. Ana Pesikan, on November 16, 2007.

“How Can the Intellectual Property Office Better Serve Serbia?”
The Round Table held in the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia

On February 12, 2008, in the Intellectual Property Office, 5.Kneginje Ljubice Street, a Round Table was held under the title How Can the Intellectual Property Office Better Serve Serbia? With this first Round Table the Office starts the regular practice of meetings that will be held traditionally at the beginning of the year, in order to take into consideration the work of the Intellectual Property Office in the past one year period and analise the current short term and long term directions of development of the Office with the main aim to strengthen the role of the Office in the stimulation of innovations, enforcement of intellectual property rights in our country, attraction of foreign investments and the marketing of domestic technology in foreign countries.
